<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is impossible for a network monitor device to monitor the status of a device to be monitored when there is not any port for connecting the network monitor device to the device to be monitored. <P>SOLUTION: A computer for providing information relating to the status of a device to be monitored to a network monitor device is made to function as a status output requesting means for making the device to be monitored output the status of the device to be monitored and a converting means for converting the information of the status outputted by the device to be monitored by the status output requesting means into information in a format referable by the network monitoring device.
