<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generating device capable of reducing a feeling of discomfort of a person viewing a display when a basic image is displayed after rendition processing is applied. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a display control device 21 for generating an image to display a basic image which is composed of a plurality of pixels stored beforehand by the predetermined rendition processing. A display control device 21 comprises a fundamental image generating part 135 and a part 136 for generating a basic image for display. The fundamental image generating part 135 generates a first fundamental image and a second fundamental image composed of a plurality of pixels based on the basic image. The part 136 for generating a basic image for display arranges the image reference point of the first fundamental image and the image reference point of the second fundamental image corresponding to the image reference point of the basic image, and generates the basic image for display composed of a plurality of pixels which have been synthesized by decreasing the respective pixel values of the plurality of pixels composing the first fundamental image and the plurality of pixels composing the second fundamental image by the predetermined proportion.
