A system for providing the terminal location information and the method thereof, the system comprises: at least one user terminal; one or more access networks for accessing the user terminal; a location service control unit for obtaining the location information of the user terminal from the access network and sending the location information to the location service client. The method comprises: the location service control unit connected to the location service client and the access network obtaining the location information of the user terminal from one or more access networks; the location service control unit sending the location information of the user terminal to the locaiton service client. Quering the location information of the user terminal and the service combined with other IMS service can be achieved neatly.
