PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial flow machine serving as a fan or an axial flow compressor for suppressing the reduction of efficiency and improving a stall margin.SOLUTION: An axial flow machine comprises: at least one-stage compressor 30 composed by a rotor blade row 31 and a stator vane row 32; a casing 7 which accommodates the compressor 30; and an operation-range expansion part 40 having an inlet 41 opening into a region 7b, which corresponds to the rotor blade row 31, in an inner surface 7a of the casing 7, ejection holes 42 opening forward of the rotor blade row 31 in the inner surface 7a of the casing 7, and a cavity part 43 that is formed within the casing 7 and communicates the inlet 41 with the ejection holes 42. A flow passage within the ejection holes 42 is inclined in the direction opposite to the rotation direction of the rotor blade row 31 with respect to in the radially inward direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
