PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such the problem that a conventional expansion and contraction device is criticized by some people because complaints about traveling property of a vehicle, vibration, noise and the like due to a recess at a gap of joint part depending of a type of the device and degradation in a shoe seat environment due to earth and sand as well as rainwater flowing in from the joint part, are caused.SOLUTION: Though a comb-like expansion and contraction device which is conventionally used has a structure of receiving all of wheel loads of a vehicle, a structure of an expansion and contraction device for a bridge, which is provided in this invention is the one in which the comb-type expansion and contraction device is used as a pedestal base, and on its face plate, a wedge-like slide plate made of hard rubber is made to be freely expanded and contracted, and no gap is caused on a traveling road surface, and a large amount of elastic system asphalt pavement is used for attaching the joint part to enable unity with the elastic system, and thus the problem can be solved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
