<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem relating to tumor formation causing cancerous blockages which inhibit the flow of a material through body fluid passageways, such as the bile ducts, trachea, esophagus, vasculature and urethra and solve the major problem with stents not preventing the ingrowth of tumor or inflammatory material through the interstices of the stent. <P>SOLUTION: A method for expanding the lumen of a body fluid passageway comprises a step for inserting a stent into the passageway such that the passageway is expanded and the stent has a generally tubular structure and the surface of the structure is coated with a composition comprising (a) an anti-angiogenic factor and (b) a polymeric carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
