This motorized bicycle is equipped with: motors (2a, 2b) which provide assistance or apply load to a left front wheel (1a) and a right front wheel (1b); a battery which gives/receives electric power to/from the motors (2a, 2b); a handlebar (3) which determines the directions of the left front wheel (1a) and the right front wheel (1b); a rear wheel (6); a transmitting means for transmitting driving force to the rear wheel (6); pedals (5) which transmit driving force to the transmitting means; a torque sensor (11) which measures the torque of the pedals; an information terminal (8) which determines torque information; and a control circuit (10) which controls the motors (2a, 2b) on the basis of the torque information from the information terminal (8) and the torque value of the torque sensor (11). The control circuit (10) allows the pedaling force to become the desired torque by controlling, on the basis of the difference between the torque information from the information terminal (8) and the torque value of the torque sensor (11), whether to supply electric power to the motors (2a, 2b) and provide assistance, or to cause the motors (2a, 2b) to generate electricity and apply load. |
