The invention relates to a device (2) for sealing a pipe (1) which belongs to an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine and which defines an exhaust gas passage. The inventive device (2) comprises: (i) a valve (7) which is mounted to a support (10) using pivot mounting means (9) which enable said valve (7) to pivot between a pipe-sealing position and at least one position in which the pipe is open, and (ii) means (15) for returning the valve (7) to the pipe- sealing position. The device (1) is characterised in that it comprises means (16) for receiving the pivot mounting means (9) at the valve (7) and/or the support (10), said receiving means (16) being arranged such as to enable the mounting means (9) to be placed in at least two different positions in relation to the valve (7) and/or the support (10). |
