A method and apparatus for measuring the capacitance between combinations of electrodes in a multi-electrode array. Excitation signals are applied to all of the electrodes, and measurement signals representative of the inter-electrode capacitances are derived from all electrodes. Each electrode to which an excitation signal is applied is connected to one input of a first operational amplifier to the other input of which an excitation signal source is connected. The measurement signal is derived from the output of a second operational amplifier one input of which is connected to the output of the first operational amplifier and the other input of which is connected to the excitation signal source. |
