PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide color photographic sensitive material contg. a coupler having superior color forming property even in the case of a small amt. of oil, having low dependency of its hue on concn. and excellent is stability to reduction with ferrous ions by incorporating a specified coupler into a layer on a substrate. SOLUTION: Superior performance is imparted to a cyan coupler by introducing a strong electron withdrawing group such as an electron withdrawing group having a Hammett's substituent constantσp of 0.2-1.0. This coupler has a residue of a prescribed coupler and forms an oligomer or has residue contg. a polymer chain and forms a homo- or copolymer. One or more kinds of cyan forming repeating units having residues of couplers may be contained in the polymer. The copolymer may contain one or more kinds of ethylenic monomers not coupling with the oxidized body of an arom. prim. amine developing agent and forming no color, e.g. acrylic esters as copolymerizable components.
