PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive which mainly comprises polyvinyl acetate and is used for bonding paper treated with a melamine-formaldehyde resin to a particle board by compounding polyvinyl alcohol for tackifying, starch, a tackifier, and a coupling agent. SOLUTION: This adhesive, mainly comprising polyvinyl acetate and used for bonding paper treated with a melamine-formaldehyde resin to a particle board, contains a polyvinyl acetate emulsion as the main component, 1.5-4.5wt.% polyvinyl alcohol for tackifying, 20-35wt.% starch (pref. corn starch having a particle size of 5-25μm), 0-15wt.% butyl benzyl phthalate as a tackifier, and 1-5wt.% silane, titanate, or zircoaluminate coupling agent or their mixture as a water-soluble or -dispersible coupling agent. |
