PURPOSE: A reverberation restraining apparatus of a channel modem for a satellite communication system capable of preventing a wrong operation of the reverberation restraining apparatus due to a radiation of a reverberation estimating coefficient by deleting a direct current offset value with respect to data which is applied to the reverberation restraining apparatus and performing reverberation restraint, is provided. CONSTITUTION: The reverberation restraining apparatus of a channel modem for a satellite communication system comprising: a transmission offset level deleting section(51) for deleting a DC level offset value which is added to a sound signal inputted from a transmitter of a sender side; a sound data storage section(52) for temporarily storing the sound signal from the send offset level deleting section(51); a reverberation estimator(53) for calculating a reverberation estimating value based on the sound signal stored in the sound data storage section(52); a receiving offset level deleting section(57) for deleting a DC level offset value which is added to a sound signal inputted from a transmitter of a receiver side, and a data synthesizer(58) for synthesizing the receiving signal from the receiving offset level deleting section(57) with the reverberation estimating value from the reverberation estimator(53).
