PURPOSE: An equalizing device of a digital VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) is provided to control writing/reading processes of data stored in a FIFO(First-In-First-Out) memory. Therefore, it is possible to prevent data output saturation, and to improve the reliability of a system. CONSTITUTION: An ADC(Analog-To-Digital Converter)(200) converts an analog play signal played from a magnetic channel into a digital signal. If the play signal is not synchronized to a system clock, an interpolation filter(300) interpolates invalid data to a non-synchronized location, and outputs the interpolated data, then generates an invalid data signal corresponding to the interpolated location of the invalid data. An equalizer(400) performs a feeder forward filtering to the inputted play signal, and detects an error between a previous play signal and the current play signal, then updates a weight as the detected error, finally equalizes the previous play signal and the current play signal. A data detector(500) detects only play data from the equalized play signals, and outputs the detected play data. A timing restorer(600) synchronizes the detected data with the system clock on the basis of the detected error, and restores a timing to output the restored timing to the interpolation filter(300). An output controller(700) synchronizes the detected data with the system clock to store the synchronized data when the invalid data signal is generated from the interpolation filter(300), and outputs the stored data after a determined time.
