PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a cordless tool and charge a battery by stopping charging positively in driving the cordless tool, thereby supplying all of the maximum capacity of a DC power source to the cordless tool. SOLUTION: This DC power supply unit body is provided with a switching detecting means 24 for detecting the on/off condition of a power switch 42 and a switching means 25 for selectively supplying the output of a DC power supply unit body to an adapter or a battery inserting port. When a power switch 42 is turned off, the output of the DC power supply unit body is supplied to the battery inserting port to charge a battery 5. When a power switch 42 is turned on, the output of the DC power supply unit body is supplied to the adapter to drive a cordless tool. It is thus possible to supply all of the maximum capacity of a DC power source to the cordless tool to charge the battery in a short time while driving of the cordless tool is being stopped, and to charge the battery having voltage different from the driving voltage of the cordless tool without applying stress to the battery.
