PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high-definition image by effectively suppressing influence of the fluctuation of density over aging. SOLUTION: A density measuring part 215 measures density of a patch pattern having plural density level formed at an intermediate transfer body and a printing density conversion part 210 corrects the error of the measured density and converts the corrected measured density to an actual print density. A density correcting table preparing part 209 calculates the density level by making the converted density correspond to previously fixed density characteristic and prepares a density correcting table by applying an interpolating method by using the calculated density. A density correction part 208 corrects image forming density by using the prepared density correcting table.
