PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure air-tightness of a screen curtain by eliminating slack of the curtain and avoiding the overlapping part to be easily pushed open by the wind generated by the pressure difference due to fire, by imparting a certain tension to the overlapping part of the screen curtain. SOLUTION: The invention comprises a plurality of non-flammable or fire- resistant flexible screen curtains 12 equipped with weights 22 and 24 at the lower peripheral ends. The curtains are sent out from a winding apparatus 14 and divide the interior space of a building in such a way to allow free opening and closure. A series of anti-fire and anti-smoke screen shutters 10 is formed by overlapping the right end of a curtain on the left end of adjacent screen curtain one after another. Along each of the right and left end of the screen curtain are provided fire resistant and flexible tension tapes 34 and 34a each having a weight at the lower end. Each tension tape is given a tension weaker than that of the weight.
