The roller comprises an annular tread (2) with axis of revolution (OO') whose outer surface (14) is in contact with the ground. A hub (1) has an interface zone (5,6) providing cohesion between the hub and the tread and a central cylindrical surface (4) which is engaged onto a rotational shaft. There is an annular groove (3) in each of the roller walls which is radially limited on one side by the hub body and on the other side by the tread. The groove section is of triangular, trapezoidal or semi-circular shape.
