Use of a spinel catalyst for the catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides

Use of a catalyst for reducing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases from IC engines and/or combustion plants is new. The catalyst is a copper oxide-aluminum oxide spinel of formula: CuACuBA12O4 (where, A + B = 1 and A, B 0) impregnated with copper.
