PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition for houses that has excellent masking properties against the offensive odor originating from glyceryl ethers. SOLUTION: The objective detergent composition comprises (A) a glyceryl ether represented by R-OCH2CH(OH)CH2OH [R is a 1-11C alkyl, alkenyl, benzyl or phenyl group], (B) a surfactant selected from anionic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactants and (C) one or more kinds of perfumes selected from 6-11C aliphatic monovalent terpene or sesquiterpene alcohols, synthetic sandalwood oil, 10-17C ethers, 6-14C aliphatic or terpene aldehydes, 4-12C aliphatic or 6-17C cyclic ketones, 7-10C carboxylic acids, 8-11C lactones, macro-cyclic, indane, tetraline musks, nitriles, ethyl tricyclo[5.2.1.02,6]decan-2-ylcarboxylate and o-t- butylcyclohexyl acetate.
