PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new prostatic cancer proliferation inhibitor in the form of an ordinary pharmaceutical preparation. SOLUTION: This new prostatic cancer proliferation inhibitor comprises as the active ingredient a carbostyril derivative of general formula (1) (wherein, A is a lower alkylene; R is a cycloalkyl; and the bond between the 3-site and 4-site of the carbostyril skeleton denotes a single or double bond) or a salt thereof, especially 6-[4-(1-cyclohexyl-1,2,3,4-tetrazol-5-yl)butoxy]-3,4- dihydrocarbostyril or a salt thereof.
