An irrigator (10) including a single irrigation arm (11) that has been adapted to move in a rotational motion (29) wherein the irrigation arm has at least one nozzle (24) set at a fixed angle with respect to the arm so that in a first setting of the arm the emerging liquid causes the arm to rotate through 360°. The irrigator may also be fitted with wheels (16) and a mechanism (14) in which the rotational motion of the irrigation arm is used to wind in a cable (15), at one end attached to the irrigator and the other end outside the irrigator such that as the cable is wound in the irrigator is moved over the terrain to be irrigated.
