PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the elimination work of glass adhering to a mold having a fine concavo-convex surface formed inside without the necessity of skilled hands and damaging the inside of a mold, and to manufacture a glass molded component at low cost. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning a mold comprises cleaning the mold after manufacturing an optical molded component by molding glass using the mold using glassy carbon, wherein the mold is cleaned by a hydrofluoric acid water solution or a hydrofluoric/nitric water solution.
