<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and light-weight planar lighting system suited for use in a large-screen TV receiver, capable of irradiating illumination light with no luminance unevenness or with reduced unevenness curtailed, and capable of easily enlarged in size. <P>SOLUTION: The planar lighting system is provided with a pair of light sources, a light-irradiating face arranged between the light sources, and pairing light-incident faces opposed to the respective light sources with a plurality of micro prisms formed on the outer surface of the slanted rear face of an inverted wedge-shaped light guide plate with a cross-section shape expanded toward the progressing direction of light flux irradiated from the light sources with a length L1 of an edge at a long side and a length L2 of that at a short side constituting the prism, a length of the slanted rear face of the light guide plate and the L1, and an angle θ1 and that θ2 of bottoms of the prism satisfying prescribed relations, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
