<p>Disclosed is a secondary battery (200), which includes: an electrode assembly (110); a can (220) receiving the electrode assembly; and an insulation case (140) provided at an upper part of the electrode assembly inside the can, where a stepped part (225) thinner than the can is formed on an inner surface of an upper part of the can. The insulation case can be inserted to the stepped part and the cap plate (130) can be seated on a second stepped part (226, 226', 226") formed at the upper part of the stepped part (225). The insulation case and cap plate are stably assembled to the can, thereby improving reliability of the process to weld the cap plate to the upper part of the can.</p> |
