PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means capable of sensitively detecting or quantifying HBZ (HTLV-1 basic leucine zipper factor) protein which plays an important role in the onset of an HTLV-1 related disease.SOLUTION: A detection reagent of HBZ protein contains at least one type of antibody selected from the group consisting of an antibody specifically binding to peptide composed of an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:4, an antibody specifically binding to peptide composed of an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:5, and an antibody specifically binding to peptide composed of an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:6. A diagnostic drug of an HTLV-1 related disease contains at least two types of the antibodies. A method for detecting an HTLV-1 related disease includes the steps of: (1) bringing a blood sample derived from a subject and the antibody into contact to form a composite body of HBZ protein contained in the blood sample and the antibody; and (2) detecting HBZ protein in the composite body formed in the step (1).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
