PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which inhibits influence of heat generated therein to improve the output while reducing the emission diameter, and to provide a projection device using the light emitting device.SOLUTION: A light emitting device (1) includes: substrates (2, 11); light emitting elements (12) which are mounted closely spaced on the substrate and emit light beams having an identical color; a phosphor layer (16) formed by a translucent material containing phosphor particles, which convert wavelengths of the light beams from the light emitting elements, the phosphor layer disposed above the light emitting elements and spaced away from the light emitting elements; a translucent member (15) supporting the phosphor layer; and a metal frame (17) disposed on the substrate, enclosing the light emitting elements, and supporting the translucent material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
