PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation system, an image generation method, a program, and an information storage medium with which it is possible to reduce a sense of incongruity more than before that is imposed by an image displayed on an HMD and representing the state of looking at the direction of visual line from a viewpoint arranged in a virtual three-dimensional space.SOLUTION: A pixel value specification unit 68 specifies, on the basis of the pixel values of one or more corresponding pixels in a reference image selected on the basis of a corresponding position, the pixel values of pixels in a display image correlated to the corresponding position. The pixel value specification unit 68 controls, in accordance with the presence or absence of corresponding pixels in a reference image selected on the basis of a corresponding position, whether or not to specify the pixel values of pixels in the display image correlated to the corresponding position on the basis of the pixel values of one or more corresponding pixels in a reference image selected on the basis of a position on a line segment linking the corresponding position and a reference point in the reference image.
