PURPOSE:To effectively prevent removed projection from being left by vibrating a blade of a varnish device minutely in contact with the entire width of a tape recording medium during running. CONSTITUTION:A pressing face 26 of a blade 21 of the varnish device is pressed onto the entire width of the tape recording medium 11 during running and the blade 21 is vibrated by an ultrasonic wave vibrator 24. The edge 27 is in slant contact with the tape 11 and vibrates it to shear the projection on the tape, smashes the projection by the reciprocating motion of the pressing face 26 thereby smoothing the surface of tape. Thus, the projection of the surface of the medium is lost and the projection left unsheared is prevented. |
