Circuit arrangement for operating a fluorescent lamp

A description is given of a circuit arrangement for operating a fluorescent lamp, comprising a fluorescent lamp whose heating filaments are connected in each case with one end to the output winding of a high-reactance transformer of an invertor and in each case with the other end to a starter. To ensure an orderly function of a starter designed for 50 Hz mains operation on an invertor operating at high frequency, a rectifying element and a switching device which automatically bridges said rectifying element electrically after the lamp has started are connected in parallel in the connection between the output winding and one of the heating filaments.
