The invention is applicable to small- and medium-section rolling mills. The invention relates to the manufacture of steel rods from microalloyed billets with improved strength properties and straightness by means of defined rolling process steps in the 1st and 2nd forming stage, in different temperature ranges and forming degrees, with intermediate cooling of the intermediate cross-section, and also to the installation for carrying out the rolling technology. The essential features in this respect are the arrangement, design and functioning of an intermediate cooling bed between the roughing and finishing stands.
