An inner anti-lacerative laminate for a motor vehicle windscreen or window comprises a polymeric film support layer e.g. polyethylene tenephthalate having an enhanced adherable surface on one side and an improved scratch-resistant (abrasion-resistant) coating of a radiation cured copolymer of a tri-or tetra-acrylate monomer and acrylic acid on its opposite side. The adherable surface of the polymeric film support layer is created by moving the surface of the support layer past a plasma generated by an improved electrode system.
