[Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A clevis joint for coupling powertransmission rods, such as the brake rods of automobiles comprises a pin 4 uniting the end 5 of one rod to the forked clevis 2, 3 at the end of another rod, the pin having a screwed head 6 engaging a threaded hole in the arm 2. Rattling may be prevented by a spring 10 on the pin arranged between the rod 5 and one arm 2 of the clevis. The end of the spring may engage a groove.9 under the head of the pin. The pin may be shouldered at 11 to limit its entrance through the arm 3.</p> |
