PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain the title granules useful for molded forms, etc., without the need for using any complicated equipment by heating in an inert gas atmosphere a mixture of polyolefin granules, radical initiator and an aromatic vinyl compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective granules can be obtained by heating a mixture of (A) 100 pts.wt. of polyolefin granules, (B) pref. 0.001-10 pts.wt. of a radical initiator such as dicumyl peroxide and (C) pref. 5-80 pts.wt. of an aromatic vinyl compound such as styrene in such an inert gas atmosphere as to enable the polyolefin granules to be virtually retained in their original granular state. It is preferable that the granules thus obtained have 300-3000mum mean diameter, 0.35-0.60g/cm<3> apparent bulk density and 1-50g/10min melt flow rate. |
