The invention relates to the extinguishing of major forest fires the uncontrollable propagation of which is due to the strong presence of wind transformable, by this method, into enemy of fire. This can be obtained by a great mass of droplets-vapours entrained by the wind in the burnt region. This mass of droplets will be formed by known spraying processes assisted by a gas turbine 1 endowing the exhausts with great velocity creating, through the gas conduit 2, subpressure onto decades of pipes3 emerged into the water of the tank-wagon. The pipes output will be regulated to control the size of the droplets, the width of the thus created mass of droplets, as well as the velocity and the range thereof. The advantages of the proposed method are the remote fire extinguishing action, the participation of the quasi-totality of the vaporized water in use to the fire extinction and the creation of a barrage impeding the local propagation of fire. |
