Protective coating for the master (1) for contact copies of holograms consists of (i) cured clear ultraviolet (UV) lacquer (3), (ii) a scratch-proof solvent-based lacquer or (iii) a scratch-proof lacquer based on 2 components. Independent claims are also included for (a) the application of the coating to the master (1); and (b) the coated master.
