PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make flexible use of the functions of a peripheral processor whose operations can be changed without increasing its communication quantity and decreasing its processing speed. SOLUTION: When a printer 1 receives a first execution commandϕ1 in a command reception part 41, a command execution part 43 specifies variable operations in a paper feeding mechanism 10, an MICR reading mechanism 14 and a recognition part 42 based on the commandϕ1 and the operations are executed. When the command reception part 41 receives a second execution commandϕ2, a series of operations are executed based on a parameter which is set in an operation parameter storage part 50.
