PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture metal caps for hermetic package by a method, wherein sealing material layers are respectively formed on the sealing surface of each metal cap main body part on a metal frame. SOLUTION: A sealing material paste is applied and dried on the peripheral parts of metal cap main body parts 17 on a metal frame 10 to form sealing material layers 18a on the peripheral parts of the parts 17, and a metal cap coupled structure A is manufactured. Whereupon as a multitude of the main body parts 17 are regularly formed in a prescribed arrangement, the layers 18a can be formed simultaneously. Then, when the layers 18a are cut from the parts of coupled fine stripes 15 close to the parts 17, that is, from two-dotted chain lines B and are separated from each other, metal caps 19 having each layer 18a can be respectively manufactured on the peripheral parts which are the sealing surfaces of the parts 17. Accordingly, the layers 18a are respectively formed on the sealing surface of each metal cap main body part to separate the metal caps from each other. As a result, the metal caps can be manufactured effectively.
