PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cheaply obtain a coil having many turns of winding by forming a winding around a closed core with a gap formed between the winding and the core, obliquely turning the winding down and pressing it to the core to thereby place the upper and lower parts of the winding near the core surface. SOLUTION: A core forms a closed magnetic path with a rectangular cross section, a bobbin 11 having a circular hole 14 is fitted into a winding part of the core 1 and rotated to wind a winding 2 around a barrel 12, as shown by the arrow mark. Then bobbin 11 is disassembled and removed from the core 1, and the winding 2 is very loosely mounted on the core 1. If a large gap exists between the core 1 and the winding 2, the coil would not be stabilized and bulky in dimension, and the flux leakage would be high. The upper and lower parts of the winding 2 are pressed by forces (f) in the reverse directions to deform the winding, thus obtaining a coil or transformer having a thickness t1+2t2, approximately.
