PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a common terminal regardless of any change in a diameter of a cable core, and to provide a connector for cable having, high reliability connection. SOLUTION: In a terminal 3, a press-attaching barrel 5 for connecting an end of an electric wire 8 is disposed to its base end side, and a cylindrical socket part 4 for engaging with a pin terminal of counterpart connector is disposed to its end side, and lances 11a, 11b jutting out outside toward the base end side of the terminal 3 are disposed on side walls 4a, 4b for forming the cylindrical socket part 4, and furthermore engaging recessed parts 14a, 14b for engaging with the lances 11a, 11b are disposed on the side walls 12a, 12b opposed to the side walls 4a, 4b of the socket part 4 in a terminal receiving cavity 2, and after the end of the electric wire 8 of a cable 7 is connected to the terminal 3 through the press-attaching barrel 5, the terminal 3 is inserted into the terminal receiving cavity 2, and the lances 11a, 11b disposed on the socket part 4 are engaged with the engaging recessed parts 14a, 14b corresponding thereto against pulling-out force.
