<p>A martensitic stainless steel which has a composition in weight % that C: 0.02 % or less, N: 0.02 % or less, Si: 0.1 to 0.3 %, Mn: 0.1 to 0.3 %, Cr: 10 to 13 %, Ni: 5 to 8 %, Mo: 1.5 to 3 %, balance: Fe and inevitable impurities, with the proviso that C+N: 0.02 to 0.04. This steel has excellent resistance to corrosion even when used in an environment wherein wet carbon dioxide and wet hydrogen sulfide are both present, and exhibits reduced increase in hardness after welding, excellent in-place weldability and reduced change in mechanical properties by the fluctuation of production conditions, and thus suitable as a steel for a line pipe.</p> |
