A betting exchange system is implemented on a web server accessible over the Internet and permits punters to submit bet requests to both back and lay events, and to set the prices at which they wish to bet, so giving rise to a true two-way market. The system also provides an arbitrage function, with implied bets being generated by the system when punters have not placed bets in respect of a particular outcome, so that bets can be executed even if one side of the market has not been taken up. This can give spread or line betting for football, rugby, tennis or motor racing. |
