<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load on a host computer and opportunities of an operation by a user in a composite machine. <P>SOLUTION: Facsimile data from a host computer 8 are transmitted via a printer controller 4 to a system controller 1. The system controller 1 retrieves called party information stored in an image memory, based on called party specifying data included in the facsimile data received and discriminates whether a machine of a called party is a G3 model or a G4 model. If the machine is G3 model, the facsimile data are converted into image data and transmitted via a FAX controller 5.
