PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium providing a filter having a longer service life than the conventional ones, and a cylindrical filter using it. SOLUTION: The filter medium of the present invention has a lot of irregularities on a porous sheet, and protruding end parts extending non-linearly. The whole filter medium is preferably not formed in a film, and a lot of irregularities are formed by majolica pleating. The filter is formed by winding the filter medium around a porous cylinder.
