PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car seat having inconspicuous lines or unevenness due to partition grooves of a seat pad on the surface of the skin and to provide its method of manufacture. SOLUTION: The car seat is composed of a seat pad 10 which has a seat section 11 for seating a vehicle occupant and banks 12 on both sides and a skin 20 which covers the external surface of the seat pad 10. Partition grooves 13 are formed respectively at the boundaries between the seat section 11 and the banks 12. Projections 14 are formed respectively on both edges of the seat section 11 facing the partition grooves 13. When the skin 20 is shaped in a mold on the external surface of the seat pad 10, the projections 14 are pushed down toward the banks 12 and are overlaid on the edges of the banks 12 facing the partition grooves 13 for closing the partition grooves 13.
