PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical element with large capacity, which has high shape flexibility and excellent mechanical strength. SOLUTION: In the electrochemical element having at least an electrode and nonaqueous electrolyte in an element case, at least one part of the element case is made of a packaging material constructed of at least three layers of a metal (A) layer, a metal (B) layer and heat-fusible resin layer, and sealed using the heat-fusible resin layer, wherein the metal (A) layer is stainless steel, and the metal (B) layer is the metal having the adhesive strength to the heat-fusible resin layer larger than that of the stainless steel.
