PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice coil motor apparatus that is applied to a microcamera auto-focus or a zoom lens drive, and achieves a motion performance of a high reproducibility and a miniaturization of the entire apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a voice coil motor, a plurality of guiding steel shafts 421, a lens holder 45, and a bottom seat 43. The voice coil motor has a magnetic circuit element 44 composed of a magnet 441, a yoke 443 and a coil 41. A rigid connection is established between the magnetic circuit element 44 and the lens holder 45, which act as a dynamic element of the apparatus. The coil 41 and the guiding steel shaft 421 are fixed to the bottom seat 43, and act as non-dynamic element of the apparatus. The magnetic leakage field of the magnetic circuit element 44 itself permits a magnetic flux linkage with the guiding steel shaft 421, creates a magnetic preloading force, and cancels a free run-out caused by tolerance gap between the dynamic element and the non-dynamic element. Also, the magnet 441 and the yoke 443 form a magnetic circuit structure with nondiscoidal wrappage of a rectangular outline. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
