PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a transmission efficiency of rotational torque by improving a constant-velocity property and a balance state of force between constituents. SOLUTION: The constant velocity universal joint is equipped with: an outer race in which a plurality of track grooves extending axially are formed in a cylindrical inner peripheral surface; an inner ring 22 which has a plurality of track grooves extending axially in a spherical outer peripheral surface 28; a plurality of balls 23 each of which is assembled in a ball track formed by a pair of track grooves of the outer race track groove and of the inner race 22 track groove; a cage 24 having a pocket 29 for holding the ball 23; and an axial backlash between the inner race 22 and cage 24. The center C<SB>B</SB>of the ball 23 is arranged on a bisected plane formed by the center C<SB>O</SB>of an outer peripheral spherical surface 31 of the cage 24 and the center C<SB>I</SB>of the spherical outer peripheral surface 28 of the inner race 22 when the spherical outer peripheral surface 28 of the inner race 22 is brought into contact with an inner peripheral spherical surface 30b of the cage 24 situated on the side opposite to the outer peripheral spherical surface 31 of the cage 24.
