<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane resin-containing polymerizable composition which can form a high-strength film, is excellent in alkali developing property of an uncured area, and never generates developing residue in a developer after developing, a planographic printing plate precursor using the same, and a process for producing a diol compound useful as a raw material of the polyurethane resin. <P>SOLUTION: The polyurethane resin is synthesized using a compound represented by the general formula (1). The polymerizable composition includes the polyurethane resin. The planographic printing plate precursor uses the polymerizable composition.
