PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic silica particle that has excellent binding property when immobilizing a measurement object substance, an analog of the measurement object substance, or a substance that is specifically bound to the measurement object substance to a magnetic silica particle, shows excellent sensitivity in immunoassay, and can exhibit stable performance even when stored for the long term.SOLUTION: A magnetic silica particle (C) is a core-shell shaped particle composed of a core layer (P) being a silica particle comprising 60-95 wt.% of a superparamagnetic metal oxide particle (A) with an average particle diameter of 1-15 nm, and a shell layer (Q) being a silica layer formed on the surface of the core layer (P) and with an average thickness of 3-3000 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
