PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device that determines whether or not a finger inserted into the device is placed at a height at which it does not come into contact with a printer head and prevents the contact between the printer head and the finger, an operation control method thereof, and an operation control program thereof.SOLUTION: A printing device 10 includes: a printer head 25 capable of applying ink to an object 12 from a position away from the object 12; a placement part 45b having a placement surface on which the object 12 is placed; an image acquisition part 46 disposed above the placement surface for acquiring a photographic image photographing the object 12 from above; and a determination part 62 for determining whether or not the object 12 is at a position lower than a stipulated position that is set at a height away from the printer head 46 based on the photographic image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
